Rescue Diver Course


The PADI Rescue Diver course is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur. This challenging and rewarding course involves classroom, pool sessions, open water skill development and open water dives.  The fun part about this course is rising to challenges and mastering them. Most divers find this course both demanding and rewarding, and at the end, say it’s the best course they’ve ever taken.

In the Rescue Diver Course you will review self-rescue skills and learn how to recognize and manage stress in other divers. You will also gain valuable experience learning about emergency management and equipment, and how to deal with panicked and unresponsive divers.

Entry Requirements:

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification from another training organization

PADI Emergency First Response Primary/Secondary Care or qualifying CPR /First Aid training from another training organization within the last 24 months.

Minimum age:

12 years

PADI Rescue Diver Crew Pack

eLearning: PADI Rescue Diver eLearning Program.
(This program includes lifetime access to the PADI Digital Rescue Diver Manual).
You can start this program anytime, anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Equipment Needed:

BCD with low pressure inflator system
Single hose regulator with alternate air source device
Submersible pressure gauge (computers are acceptable)
Depth gauge (computers are acceptable)
Compass (computers are acceptable)
Bottom timing device (computers are acceptable)
Weight belt and weights
Dive knife or tool
Audible surface signaling device (whistle or other noise maker)
Visible surface signaling device (tube or mirror)
Pencil and underwater slate
Pocket mask


Classroom/pool sessions conveniently conducted over four or five evenings, and one weekend at Dutch Springs.

Certification Awarded:

Upon successful completion of the course, the student is certified as a PADI Rescue Diver and qualifies for further training as a PADI Divemaster.


$349 Our course cost includes classroom, pool sessions, open water dives and certification fees. All course materials are additional. If registering for eLearning there is a $169 online fee paid directly to PADI to start the process.
